Complete this form to request the refund approval of the $1,500 international student commitment fee due to a study permit refusal by IRCC.

The international student commitment fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. However, you may be eligible for a refund of your commitment fee if your study permit was refused by IRCC.

To be eligible for a refund due to a study permit refusal:

Your study permit or visa was refused by IRCC.
You must upload a pdf copy of the IRCC refusal letter.
The refusal letter must be received by the seventh day of classes of your admission term.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are aware of all rules, regulations and deadlines to complete course withdrawal and appeal procedures.

Under normal circumstances, a commitment fee refund request will be reviewed within in 7 - 10 business days. You will be notified by ieappeals@langara.ca of the decision.

If you would like to submit an appeal for a commitment fee refund due to the recent IRCC changes to open work permit eligibility for spouses, please complete the Commitment Fee Refund due to changes to spousal work permit eligibility request form.

If you would like to submit an appeal for a commitment fee refund based on graduation, suspension, or extenuating circumstances, please complete a student appeal request form and submit the form to appeals@langara.caalong with a letter of explanation and supporting documentation.
