Science & Technology Building earns LEED® Gold

Langara College recently confirmed that our newest building, the Science and Technology Building, officially received LEED^® gold status as of October 4, 2017. LEED^®, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a rating system used around the world to recognize the highest sustainable and energy efficiency practices.

Earning the LEED^® Gold status officially recognizes the building as being designed with some of the most innovative sustainable technologies and energy-efficient designs and materials. It is a feather on the cap for the Science and Technology Building that has already earned an Illumination Merit Award for its lighting design, as well as being shortlisted for The Plan Awards in Italy.

I’d like to congratulate Wendy Lannard and the entire project team on the well-deserved LEED^® gold status for the Science and Technology Building, and for helping us reach our vision of leading a sustainable community.
