Taking time off is an important part in maintaining work/life balance and we would like to remind employees that accrued vacation is to be taken in the year in which it is earned, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon with the College. We encourage employees with unscheduled vacation balances to speak with their supervisor/leader about using their remaining entitlement prior to the end of the year.
Each employee group has unique vacation entitlement and carryover allowances; please refer to your respective Collective Agreement or Terms of Employment for detailed information.
- CUPE members are permitted some carryover, in alignment with Article XIV.2
- LCAA members may carry over up to a maximum of their vacation entitlement
- LFA members must receive approval for any carryover requests, in accordance with 18.104.22.168.c.
For CUPE and LCAA members, any vacation in excess will be paid out in February 2018. To view your current vacation balance, visit myLangara.ca>Employee Information>Leave Information.
