Employee walking challenge

These shoes were made for walking!

Did you know that February is heart health month? The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) challenges you to step up your health by taking part in the Employee Walking Challenge from February 128! We want to see those sneakers moving around the campus and the city, getting your heart healthier, and your mind clearer. Those with the most steps, both weekly and at the end of the month will also have a chance to win some great prizes! Want to know who the weekly winners are and what the prizes are? Registration for the challenge is required by no later than Thursday, January 25, also please note the following:

  • Registrants can participate in the challenge by using their smartphone or watch (Fitbit, Garmin, etc.) to track steps. There are also a limited number of pedometers available for loan from People Services from January 26 onward.
  • Participants will compete as individuals but if there are two or more employees from a department signed up, we will tally up steps to form a departmental total. Just a little friendly competition to fuel that motivation!

Taking a small step towards a healthier lifestyle can make a big impact on your cardiovascular health! But be sure to consult with your physician if you have any health concerns prior to joining the challenge.
