Employee Recognition 2018

Program Changes and Save the Date!

Each year we come together to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of Langara employees who support the College’s vision and goals. At the annual recognition event, employees who reach benchmark service dates (15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, etc.) along with those retiring from the College, are formally celebrated. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, April 19. Further details to follow in the coming weeks, so please save the date and stay tuned!

In the meantime, we are excited to announce two new additions to the 2018 Employee Recognition program!

Retiree Gifts (NEW)

Calling all retiring employees! Previously all employees retiring from the College were provided with a set of luggage tags and received an invitation to the President’s  Retirees Luncheon, at which time they were given a beautiful Aboriginal Print.  Going forward, retirees with over 15 years of service will also be able to choose a gift through our long service gifts provider, Williams Recognition; and all retirees will continue to receive a set of luggage tags and be invited to the President’s Retirees Luncheon.

Recognition Gift for All Employees (NEW)

Employees are the College’s most important asset and the synergistic efforts of Langara’s employees are what have made it such a successful learning institution. To give thanks for all of the great contributions made by each of you, a small token of our appreciation will be provided to all employees of the College, irrespective of your length of time at Langara. Those employees being formally recognized, as well as those retiring, will still be eligible to receive this small “mystery” gift in addition to their formal gift selection through Williams Recognition.

Recognition can be informal and not only limited to a formal recognition program. It doesn’t have to be a manager, department chair or a leader that delivers a “thank you” or praise for a job well done, whether verbal or written. Informal recognition can occur at any time, and at any level. So let’s show our appreciation for one another and continue to foster a culture of collegiality!
