Help us celebrate our 49th anniversary

As some of you may know, 2019 marks two important milestones for Langara. In 2019, the College will celebrate its 49^th year of operations on W. 49^th Avenue and our 25^th anniversary as an independent public institution.

The College has some exciting plans to celebrate our 49^th anniversary and we want you to be part of it. Langara’s anniversary campaign, Beyond 49 will celebrate our past milestones and achievements, engage our alumni and community, and raise funds to support our students and future initiatives at the College.

Thank you to everyone who invited us to join their meetings and events, or attended the lunch & learn sessions to learn more about our plans. For those who may have missed it, a copy of our presentation is available here.

Each of you are an important part of the College and its history and we invite you to join the celebration. Regular updates will be provided in The Langara Post as we prepare for our anniversary celebrations, but here’s a few ways for you to get involved.

• Share your Langara story 
  Langara employees, past and present, have helped to make Langara what it is today. As we prepare for our anniversary celebrations, we want to hear your Langara story. It could be a favourite memory, a career highlight, or something unique about Langara or your time here – the story is up to you. We know that there are some great Langara stories out there and we want to hear them. Share your story online.
• Join us at our first anniversary event on October 10
  We will kick-off our anniversary celebrations with an exciting event that will honour our past and celebrate our Langara community on Wednesday, October 10. All current and former employees will be invited to attend. Please save the date and share with any former colleagues you are still in touch with. Former employees who would like to be added to the invite list can email beyond49@langara.ca. More information will be provided over the next few months.
• Share your old photos of Langara
  We are collecting photos from our past 49 years to share throughout our anniversary celebrations. If you have any treasures for the collection, we’d love to see them! You can email scanned copies of your photos to beyond49@langara.ca.
