Announcing Dawn Palmer’s Retirement

It is with personal regret but warm wishes that I announce the retirement of Vice-President, People Services Dawn Palmer at the end of 2018.

Dawn first joined the College in June 2012 as the Associate Vice-President, Human Resources and became the Vice-President, People Services in April 2016. Under her leadership the College has successfully launched many initiatives, programs and events that have helped make Langara an even better studying and working environment for students and employees.  These include: Respectful Workplace, Mind Your Self Healthy Minds Initiative and many other employee wellness programs, expanded Employee Recognition Event, Employee Engagement Survey, Mental Health Summit, Employee Assistance Program, Faculty Leadership Development program, Sexual Respect Ambassador pilot program, and the recently launched Smoke-Free Campus, just to name a few. The positive impact of all these initiatives under her leadership will be long lasting at the College.

I want to sincerely thank Dawn for her service to the College and wish her all the best in the new chapter of her life.

I will update the College community soon on the search for our next Vice-President, People Services and details on a retirement celebration event for Dawn will be announced in the fall.
