Staffing Changes


Stan Lau – Manager, Payroll Services – People Services is pleased to announce that Stan Lau joined the Payroll team on July 30th, 2018 on a permanent basis. Stan has more than 8 years of management experience in government organizations along with specialized experience in the areas of Payroll and Accounting. He previously worked with Squamish Nation Indian Band and held the roles of Payroll Supervisor and Manager, Accounting Services. His education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration and Financial Management Diploma; and he is also a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). At Langara, Stan will be responsible for managing and leading the Payroll team in the preparation and execution of Langara’s Payroll Services’ function in accordance with the mission, values, goals and policies of the organization. He will report to Karen Hackett, Director, HR Services, Systems and Payroll. We believe Stan will be an excellent asset to the People Services team and the College.


Regina Yu – Payroll Lead – The increased complexity and growth of the College, and pending ERP implementation has created the need for a specialized role to support ongoing payroll activities and succession planning. Regina has been appointed to the Payroll Lead position, effective July 30th, 2018.  She has more than 23 years of experience with Langara Payroll and extensive knowledge in this specialty area. Throughout her years at Langara, Regina has held the positions of Accounts Payable Clerk, Benefits Clerk and Manager of Payroll & Benefits.

Phoebe Tang – HR Services Clerk – Phoebe joined the College in 2014 and has worked in various departments including Facilities, CS LEAP, and Registrar and Enrolment Services. In November 2017, she began her role as the HR Services Clerk and we are pleased to announce that as of August 7th, 2018 she has accepted the position on a permanent basis. In this key function she will continue to provide excellent service as the front-line face of the department, utilizing the knowledge from her Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources and Marketing.
