Update: Vice-President, People and Culture search

Colleagues,

Since my last update in July, the search committee leading the recruitment of our new VP People and Culture has been hard at work shortlisting and interviewing candidates. In September we invited two final candidates to visit the campus and meet with stakeholder groups. I want to thank all of you who took the time to attend those sessions and provide feedback.

Unfortunately, one of the two candidates has accepted an offer from another organization, and the other has withdrawn from the competition. We will now be going back to our partner on this search, Boyden, to begin identifying new candidates for the committee to evaluate and interview. New dates will be booked for later this fall for stakeholder groups to meet with the shortlisted candidates that come out of that process.

I am pleased to say that Dawn Palmer has kindly agreed to delay the start of her retirement until we are able to secure and onboard a new VP People and Culture.  Thank you Dawn for your commitment to Langara.
