Naloxone training

The Langara Faculty Association (LFA) is pleased to announce they will be hosting a naloxone training session on campus, Monday, November 19th from 4:30pm–6:00pm (Room B030). The training is open to all Langara employees, including staff and administrators.

Get hands-on training to help you spot an opioid overdose, and save a life with naloxone. Naloxone is a medication that when administered correctly, has the chance to reverse an overdose. During this course, participants will learn how to safely provide a naloxone injection and hear a real life account from an individual with a history of direct substance use and overdose. This workshop will be taught by expert trainers from both Karmik (a west coast harm reduction initiative) and the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (VANDU). At the end of this 1-hour training session, participants will receive a Naloxone Kit and a certificate from the Take Home Naloxone (THN) program.
