Dear students and colleagues,
First off, I want to thank you all for your cooperation over the past few days. Thank you for your patience as we worked to get our campus back up and running. Despite the difficult circumstances, we are relieved that no one was injured and that our campus community acted quickly to take care of one another. We are very grateful for the excellent response from the Vancouver Fire Department, Vancouver Police Department, and paramedics, to ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff. I’m pleased to welcome you back to campus, and I want to reassure you that our campus is safe.
This situation has been a difficult one for all of us, and we are providing additional supports on campus today to help our community. I want to encourage you to make use of those supports to take care of yourselves, and to refer those around you who may need further support to those services.
I want to thank the members of our Emergency Operations Committee, Campus Security, Facilities, Registrar and Enrolment Services, IT, Academic leadership, C&M, and many others for their work these past two days.
As we return to regular operations, I look forward to seeing the Langara community do what we do best – supporting each other. Let’s continue to take care of each other in the days going forward.
