Community Day: Thank you for your ideas

Thank you to Langara departments who submitted ideas for Community Day on June 15. We were so happy to see the excitement from our community to showcase our campus and help offer a fun memorable day for our attendees. In total, we received 20 department submissions with a range of great ideas. All submissions have been reviewed by the Beyond 49 committee and we are currently reaching out to department contacts to confirm details for the event.

The final program for the day continues to be developed but we can’t wait to share it with you. Highlights include two stages with music and entertainment, food trucks, beer and wine garden, a kids zone, mini alumni reunions, speaker series, and so much more.

Help us invite our community
A range of resources are currently being created to invite our community to attend Community Day. Resources will be made available online shortly, but if you have any specific marketing or communication requests for your contact lists, please send email to beyond49@langara.ca. We want our extended Langaran community to be part of this event.

What is Community Day?
Community Day presented by RBC Royal Bank will be our largest anniversary celebration. We are excited to celebrate our 49th anniversary at the Beyond 49 Community Day on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Presented by RBC Royal Bank, Community Day will be the largest campus-wide celebration we have ever hosted and we are inviting departments across the College to be part of the day.

The event will be a public, family-friendly celebration that brings together 5,000 internal and external stakeholders and friends. This block-party-style event will focus on community engagement and the inclusion of guests from the College’s surrounding neighborhoods. Community Day will feature live music, interactive games, food and cake, engaging activities, and fun entertainment.
