Interim Dean, Langara School of Management

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce that Ryan Cawsey has accepted the position of Dean, Langara School of Management on an interim basis. Ryan has been with Langara for 11 years, serving in roles as faculty member, Assistant Department Chair, Department Chair, and most recently as Division Chair for Applied Sciences.  Ryan also serves as the College’s Chair of Education Council and is a member of the College’s Board of Governors. Ryan holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Biomechanics from UBC, and has published a number of scholarly articles. In his new role, Ryan will provide continuity to the School of Management while we engage in the search for the permanent Dean.

Ryan and Ian will work closely together with the Division Chair, Department Chairs, Coordinators and Faculty in the portfolio over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition. I’d like to thank Ryan for accepting this new challenge.

I want to thank Ian McBain once again for his contributions to the College and for his dedication to Langara. Serving in various decanal positions across the College, Ian has been a steady hand during times of change, and has always stepped up when called upon by the College. Ian returns to faculty this summer, and I wish him great success back in the classroom.
