New sustainability tour

We are pleased to announce the launch of Langara’s newest green initiative: the sustainability tour.

For over 20 years, the College has been consciously working towards various sustainability initiatives, ranging from energy management to environmental sustainability. We recognize our resources are finite, and that our decisions can make a large impact on our community and the planet. The tour is designed to showcase our commitment to sustainability initiatives and hopefully inspire visitors to take on sustainability initiatives of their own – small or large – back home or at work.

The self-guided tour contains seven stops which highlight various initiatives the College has undertaken. Visitors can walk or cycle the tour. The tour is accessible by paved sidewalk with exception of the apiary and community garden which will require stairs and is located on natural mulch. The short tour is 750m long (about 900 steps) and should take between 15-25 minutes to complete. The entire tour is self-contained, and can be completed by following the maps provided on each sign; however, tour maps can also be picked up at the Engagement Kiosk in A Building or downloaded online.

This initiative comes out of the Academic Plan Action Group 5 (APAG 5): Environmental, Financial, and Social Sustainability. To learn more about Langara’s sustainability initiatives, please visit

We hope you enjoy the tour!
