Out of a desire to come back to the community as early as possible, we scheduled the Town Hall on Emergency Preparedness and Campus Safety for the first day we could, given the need to share the information with our Board first.
However, as you may know, Friday afternoon will be a day of action for the climate. We have received quite a bit of interest from our community about participating in the Climate Strike that day, and we do not want to put people in the position of having to choose between attending the Town Hall or the Climate Strike. There was also recently some damage to the AV equipment used for events in the T Building Gallery, making it challenging to host the event in the planned format. As such, we have decided to forego the Town Hall for this Friday, and instead share the important updates about emergency preparedness with you all in other ways, such as presentations at department meetings. We will update the Campus Community soon about those new sessions as our plans are finalized. I look forward to continuing this important conversation with you in the coming weeks.
