Sep 30 – Orange Shirt Day

Orange Shirt Day is on Monday, September 30. This day is dedicated to commemorating the children affected by residential schools. Learn about the history of residential schools and wear orange to show support of the reconciliation process.

Schedule of events:

9:30 am | House Post | Opening, prayer, song, and story sharing

10:00 am–2:00 pm | A Building Main Foyer | Activities and information

  • Pick up an orange shirt, buttons, or wristband (items will be given on a first come, first served basis)
  • Learn more about Orange Shirt Day
  • Learn more about Residential Schools
  • Learn more about the TRC (specifically section 71 – 76)
  • Read children’s story books and biographies
  • Participate in an Orange Shirt Day activity that will be turned into a window display

12:30 pm | B010 | Documentary and Facilitated Dialogue about residential schools

3:00 pm | House Post (weather permitting) | Wear your orange shirt and take part in a group photo
