Bike to Work Week (Mon, Oct 21–Sun, Oct 27)

Take up the challenge and reduce your carbon footprint by joining the Bike to Work Week Langara team.

The Metro Vancouver-wide event is organized by HUB, Your Cycling Connection, whose mission is to get more people cycling, more often. Langara College has a Bike to Work Week team that competes with other workplaces including our sister post-secondary institutions in Metro Vancouver. If you cycle to work or would like to start, please join the team at http://bikehub.ca/registration. Once registered, you can map out your bike routes and log your rides on HUB’s Bike to Work Week site.

If you have logged rides during previous Bike to Work Weeks with Langara College, then you are already on the team and do not need to rejoin.

All bicycle rides (including shopping trips and recreational rides) during Bike to Work Week count toward the competition when logged through HUB’s Bike to Work Week site.

You will also have a chance to win a Cycling Trip for 2 in the Baltics from HUB & Exodus Travels and MEC gift cards from Langara College.

If you would like to start cycling to the College, Fulton Tom (ftom@langara.ca) can help with bicycle route planning and finding a cycling buddy.

Langara College Bike to Work Week Celebration Station (Tuesday, Oct 22)

Let’s celebrate cycling.

Langara College is hosting a Bike to Work Week Celebration Station on Tuesday October 22 from 4 pm to 6 pm along the Ontario Street Bikeway (at 50th Avenue). The station is one of many throughout Metro Vancouver.

Drop by the Langara’s Celebration Station for basic bike tune-ups by VanCycle Mobile Bicycle Shop, free refreshments provided by Roots Café & Langara College, bike lights from Communications & Marketing (while supplies last), cycling resources and prize draws.
