Oct 4 – Sisters in Spirit Vigil

Every October, communities come together to honour the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) and to stand alongside their families to offer support, educate the public, and commemorate the lives of our Indigenous women and girls.

On October 4 a red dress installation will be outside of the Security Office to bring awareness to the more than 1,000 missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada. Each red dress symbolizes the loss of an Indigenous woman in Canada.

A moment of silence will be held at 11:00 am where Elder-in-Residence, Mary Jane Joe will perform a song to honour the missing women. All are welcome.
