Office of Academic Quality Assurance (AQA)

Dear colleagues,

Over the past few months you’ve been learning about the College’s plans as our academic community prepares for our Quality Assurance Process Audit (QAPA) through the BC government. Today, I am pleased to acknowledge that we will have additional support with this ongoing project with the launch of Langara’s new Office of Academic Quality Assurance (AQA).

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Academic, and led by Dr. Sunita Wiebe, the Office of Academic Quality Assurance (AQA) will be responsible for overseeing that Langara’s academic quality assurance processes are in alignment with College Plans, College Policies, and the expectations of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. The AQA office will build upon Langara’s culture of continuous quality improvement as the College prepares for QAPA and beyond.

This new office will provide departments and programs undergoing program review with a variety of support services, advice, student and survey data, and other resources such as templates and handbooks. While the AQA office will not have a physical space, it will have a virtual one. The AQA will be launching an external-facing website offering accessible resources later this semester.

Dr. Ben Cecil
Provost & Vice-President Academic and Students
