Oct 28 – Lynda.com transitions to LinkedIn Learning

Lynda.com, the e-learning and training website, is transitioning to LinkedIn Learning on October 28th. Acquired by LinkedIn in 2015, the new platform will have the same extensive content of over 10,000 videos, and will continue adding 30+ new videos every week on a variety of different subjects.

Lynda.com will go offline for all Langara users at 12:01 am on October 28th, and will remain offline until the migration to LinkedIn Learning is complete. This is expected to take until 12:00 pm on October 29th. All active users will receive an email to activate their new LinkedIn Learning account when the platform is ready.

What’s going to happen to my learning history?

• All learning history will be transitioned to your new profile.

It’s asking me to link my professional profile. Is that mandatory?

• No, not at all. If you do not want to link your professional profile to your LinkedIn Learning account, you have the option to set up a separate Learning profile. If you do choose to link your professional profile and want to unlink it in the future, you will need to contact LinkedIn directly.

What about all my Lynda.com links in Brightspace?

• LinkedIn will forward all Lynda.com links within Brightspace to the new LinkedIn Learning videos until March 2020. You will need to update the video links for your courses by that time.
