Jul 1 – Landfill ban on styrofoam takes effect
In an effort to divert recyclable materials away from landfills, Metro Vancouver has introduced a landfill ban on Styrofoam packaging that will come into effect on July 1, 2018. Once in effect, the college will be responsible for ensuring that all StyroFoam is properly collected and sent to a facility for recycling. Failure to comply with the landfill ban will result in financial penalties for the college.

Mailroom – important update
Facilities staff will be migrating mail from the old mailboxes to the new mailbox system starting on Monday, April 23rd. To assist with the transition, employees are encouraged to empty out individual and department mailboxes prior to this date; and to deliver interoffice mail directly to the recipient’s office. Mailroom renovation update
The mailroom renovation project will be complete by early April. This much needed renovation will eliminate existing temporary mailboxes, organize existing mailboxes more efficiently, and provide for future growth. To complete the mailroom renovation we will need to move some of the mailboxes. Please see the article to learn what you can do to help reduce the possibility of mail getting misdirected during the transition from the old mailboxes to the new ones.
