T Building wins 2018 AIBC merit award

The Science and Technology Building is catching the attention of local architects. On Thursday, April 19, 2018, the Architectural Institute of BC (AIBC) presented a total of 13 awards in five different categories. The T Building was awarded a Lieutenant-Governor  of British Columbia Award at the merit level. The award recognizes excellence in architectural projects led and completed by BC registered architects.

The building is striking for the way in which it cantilevers out 16 meters over the 49th avenue entrance, making it an interesting gateway to the main College campus. The impressive building is organized with two primary blocks stacked on top of one another, and is certified with LEED Gold standards. The goals with the building include reducing on-site parking and encouraging car share programs and public transit usage, with the ultimate goal of being sustainable.

T Building is a collaborative project by Proscenium Architecture and Interiors Inc. in association with Teeple Architects Inc.
