Submit your department ideas for Community Day by this Thursday, February 28. This is your chance to be part of Langara’s largest campus-wide celebration and get in front of up to 5,000 members of our community – you won’t want to miss it.
Not sure what your department can do on the day? We are happy to work with you, just complete the form below with some basic information and we’ll contact you to work out the details. Below are some suggestions for your area:
- Idea for speakers
- Tours of your facilities
- Activities and demonstrations
All ideas will be considered by the Beyond 49 committee. Your activities will be promoted as part of the larger Community Day event to alumni, employees and the community.

We are excited to celebrate our 49th anniversary at the Beyond 49 Community Day on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Presented by RBC Royal Bank, Community Day will be the largest campus-wide celebration we have ever hosted and we are inviting departments across the College to be part of the day.
The event will be a public, family-friendly celebration that brings together 5,000 internal and external stakeholders and friends. This block-party-style event will focus on community engagement and the inclusion of guests from the College’s surrounding neighborhoods. Community Day will feature live music, interactive games, food and cake, engaging activities, and fun entertainment.

Tell us how your department can get involved
We have a lot to celebrate over the past 49 years and we want to invite all Langara departments to host an activity at Community Day. If your department would like to be involved, please review the Community Day Department Activation Guidelines (PDF), connect with your Communications Officer to begin planning, and complete the form below before February 28, 2019.
The Community Day committee will review all submissions and confirm approved activities by Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Some funding will be available to assist with the costs of delivering activities on the day.
