2019 Pacific Rim Magazine Pops Up at Langara

This week’s Creative Arts and Industries Pop-Up Gallery features pages from the 2019 Pacific Rim Magazine – an award-winning Publishing student magazine focused on community issues, environmental concerns, and social transitions.

The 2019 issue will be distributed to all Globe and Mail subscribers in British Columbia tomorrow and launched to the publishing industry tomorrow night at an official launch event.

Production of the 64-page issue of Pacific Rim Magazine and the development of LangaraPRM.com are integral parts of Langara’s Publishing program, where students are responsible for editing, writing, illustrating, designing, and coding.

They collaborate with students in the Selling Skills courses to produce ads for a wide range of small businesses in the community, Library & Information Technology students for research, and students from the Professional Photography program to create images to accompany their stories.

This year’s magazine focuses on the theme of “Community” and includes a special insert for Beyond 49, the College’s 49th anniversary celebration, alumni engagement, and fundraising campaign.

Congratulations to the students and instructors involved in the production of the new issue!

Check out the exhibit in the A Building Foyer until May 12.
