Nov 20 – Strangers on a Train

Strangers on a Train is currently seeking readers for the next reading on Tuesday, November 20.

Strangers on a Train is a monthly reading series, hosted by the Langara College English department, devoted to creating dialogue between writers and writing groups that would not typically interact with one another. Each event features writers from a variety of genres and backgrounds: from spoken word to highbrow prose – the up-and-coming, the student, and the venerable. The goal of the series is to encourage discussion and promote collaboration within Vancouver’s diverse literary community (or with members of other Canadian literary communities).

The upcoming Strangers reading is going to be a special Langara-themed reading featuring a handful of 3-minute mini-readings from Langara faculty, staff, and students. We want to highlight a wide range of Langara readers, so if you are a creative writer and you are connected to Langara in some way we’d love to have you read for us! Read a poem (or two). Read an excerpt from something longer. It doesn’t matter what you read, as long as you can read it in 3 minutes!

The event takes place on Tuesday, November 20 at 7:00 pm, and will be held at the the Kino Cafe (3456 Cambie St., Vancouver). As always, Strangers on a Train readings are free to attend and are open to the public.

If you or a colleague/student you know are interested in reading, please contact Thor Polukoshko by Tuesday, November 13.
