Research & Scholarly Activity Faculty Release

Research & Scholarly Activity Faculty Release (1 section, FY18/19)

Langara’s Scholarly Activity Steering Committee is excited to announce the RSAF 2. The RSAF 2 provides one section of release for a faculty researcher to write a proposal for an external grant or build capacity such that the faculty researcher’s  program be ready to compete for an external grant.

Objective:

  1. At the completion of the grant semester the grantee would have a complete application for a substantial external grant (e.g. SSHRC, NSERC, or comparable).

OR

  1. At the completion of the grant semester the grantee would have significantly further developed existing research capacity.  As a consequence, the grantee should then be well positioned to apply for a substantial external grant (e.g. SSHRC, NSERC, or comparable).

All regular faculty are invited to submit proposals by Friday, June 1, 2018 using the form http://goo.gl/forms/HrRcPyTPO4NMlcEL2.  Submissions require the approval of your Department Chair and will be sent to the Dean of your area.  Adjudication by the RSAF Adjudication Committee will take place shortly thereafter.  You may be required to present your proposal to the Adjudication Committee.  Announcement of the successful proposals will take place by June 30 2018.

The SASC will host a Lunch and Learn session regarding the RSAF 2:
Monday, May 14, 2018
11:30 am
Room T226

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

We hope this initiative will inspire your applied research and social innovation  aspirations.
