Thank VOLT on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 27

Tuesday November 27 is Giving Tuesday. A global day of giving, Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to give to the causes important to you and celebrate the act of giving.

This Giving Tuesday, Langara is celebrating the contributions of our student volunteer program, VOLT. VOLT was created in 2010 by two students inspired to do more. Since then the program has contributed over 57,000 volunteer hours on-campus, and at organizations throughout the lower mainland and abroad. Many Langara events would not be possible without our VOLT student volunteers. They help welcome our new student, bring energy to semester kick-off, and promote community engagement on campus.

Help us thank our student volunteers for everything they do for the College, while also raising funds for valuable leadership training opportunities that will help generations of VOLT volunteers.

Here’s how you can give back and say thank you:

• Get social on November 27 – like, share or comment and $1 donated by LSU
  We want to give our social media followers a chance to get in on the giving spirit. In partnership with the Langara Students’ Union, you can help us raise money for VOLT with a simple click of a button on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. LSU will donate $1 for every like, share, and comment on our Giving Tuesday posts, until we reach $2,500.
• Donate to VOLT or another project by December 2
  For every dollar donated for Giving Tuesday before December 2, 2018, Langara College will match your gift (up to $5,000). Donations can be to VOLT or a fund of your choice. One gift, double the impact. If you would like to contribute to Giving Tuesday, please email the Langara College Foundation and we will contact you directly regarding your gift. Our online donation form is experiencing technical difficulties – we apologize for the inconvenience.
• Visit the Giving Tuesday Celebration Station and thank a volunteer with a toonie
  Come by the Giving Tuesday Celebration Station outside the Hub (A140) from 8:00 am-3:00 pm. Donate a toonie to give a thumbs-up to our volunteers and a chance to win.
