Nominate a colleague for the 2019 emeriti program
Nominations are now welcome for the 2019 Emeritus/Emerita program.
The Emeritus/Emerita program recognizes distinguished service of retiring/retired faculty and professional staff. This honorific designation is granted to spotlight meritorious service and contributions to the College and its communities. Designations will be formally conferred at the College’s annual Convocation ceremony. Since its inaugural year, thirteen worthy individuals have been bestowed Emeritus status and were recognized at Convocation.
Nominations may be initiated by any employee or other appropriate group or individual and should be submitted electronically with the following information forwarded to the Office of the Provost (through Ramon Rodrigo at rrodrigo@langara.ca) by February 15th, 2019.
- Name of the candidate;
- Documentation demonstrating the candidate’s contributions to the College and the broader community;
- Brief statement outlining why the nominee should be considered for Emeritus status;
- Date of the nominee’s expected retirement; and
- Name and contact information of the nominator.
Those nominated but not recognized in previous years may be nominated again. A new application package is not required, but nominators are encouraged to submit updated information in support of the nominee together with a new letter of support. All nominations will be considered by the Emeritus Committee.
