Announcement: Div Chair, Management Programs

Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Marianne Gianacopoulos as Division Chair, Management Programs, effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2021.

Marianne has worked at Langara for close to ten years, serving in various roles. She started in Co-op and Career Development where she worked closely with students, helping them develop their career readiness skills.  She also taught a variety of courses in the Langara School of Management’s Business Management / International Business department. In 2014, Marianne joined the Educational Technology department as an advisor and began working towards a Graduate Diploma in Educational Technology. In this role, she has worked with faculty from across Langara on the integration and use of technology into teaching practice. The Peer Supported Learning program welcomed Marianne in a quarter-time role in January 2018. This program forms part of a college initiative to further student persistence and success in challenging courses by adopting a peer facilitator approach to helping students learn how to help themselves. These varied and exciting experiences have enabled Marianne to develop a deep understanding of the Langara community, culture and the passion for students.

Division Chairs play an important role in the success of the College. Please join me in wishing Marianne the best in this role in the Management Programs Division.
