Convocation Ceremonies 2019
Every year, Convocation is a celebration for students who have completed their studies at Langara. It is an event that reminds us of the institution’s primary function – serving our students and community. This year, we are excited to have this year’s ceremonies taking place offsite at the Orpheum once again.
The detailed ceremony schedule is now available. Please note the morning ceremonies start at 9:45 am and the afternoon ceremonies start at 3:15 pm. We wish to extend an invitation to all faculty, staff, and CS Instructors to attend Convocation.
Ordering Your Ticket to Convocation
This year, all faculty, staff, and CS Instructors who wish to attend Convocation must order a complimentary ticket. Tickets will be available to order from 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 1st to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 7th. As seating in the Orpheum is extremely limited, we cannot guarantee a ticket for everyone who would like to attend. Tickets to the ceremonies are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A link to the ticketing website will be posted on the Convocation website at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 1st.
Order Your Regalia by May 17th
All faculty, staff, and CS Instructors must wear regalia to participate in the Convocation Ceremonies or sit in the reserved seating area. Faculty, staff, and CS Instructors will be responsible for ordering regalia themselves via the Gaspard website. A link to the Gaspard website will be posted on the Convocation website at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 1st. Orders must be submitted before May 17th. Regalia rentals will be provided at no charge to faculty, staff, and CS Instructors who submit their order prior to the May 17th deadline.
Do You Own Your Regalia?
If you own your regalia and are attending the Convocation Ceremonies, please email convocation@langara.ca prior to May 17th to let us know. We are able to steam your regalia prior to the ceremonies, and can also transport owned regalia to the Orpheum in advance of the ceremonies.
Transportation to the Orpheum
After reserving regalia, faculty, staff, and CS Instructors may request transit passes from the Convocation Team to cover the cost of their transport between the College and the Orpheum. Please email convocation@langara.ca to request transit passes.
