People and Culture staffing changes

We are pleased to announce the following new additions to the People and Culture team:

Krista Robinson – HR Consultant
Krista joined the People and Culture team on August 12, 2019 on a permanent basis. Prior to joining the College, Krista worked as an HR Advisor at the Legal Service Society in Vancouver. Krista’s extensive HR experience spans various industries, including higher education, not-for-profit, and hospitality. Her portfolio as an HRC will include the following departments: Faculty of Social Sciences and Community Programs, CS LEAP, Academic Innovation, and the Executive Office.

Everlie Basinang – HR Services Clerk
Everlie joined the People and Culture team on July 2, 2019 on a temporary basis. Prior to joining the College, she completed her Diploma in Human Resources Management. In addition to her HR education, Everlie will be able to apply the administrative experience she gained while working at UBC to the HR Services Clerk role!

Rachel Robbins – Human Resources Associate
Rachel joined the People and Culture team on July 29, 2019 on a temporary basis. Rachel comes to us from Klohn Crippen Berger, where she was a Recruitment Coordinator. Prior to this, she gained experience in the post-secondary industry while working at UVIC. Rachel will be providing support to Nav Dhaliwal’s client portfolio.

Simmi Purewal – Coordinator, HR Strategic Initiatives
Simmi joined the People and Culture team on August 14, 2019 on a temporary basis. She is familiar with the public sector as she comes to us from the BC Liquor Distribution Branch, where she worked as an Employee Relations Coordinator and as an HR Relations Lead. In her role, she will be working on strategic initiatives such as professional development, employee recognition, wellness, and departmental communications.

FAREWELL:
We are sad to announce that Cindy Nguyen’s last day at the College is September 5, 2019. Cindy started at the College on June 4, 2018 and has accepted an opportunity outside the College. Please join us in thanking her for her service and wishing her good luck in all her future endeavours. Cindy’s portfolio will be divided among the HR Associates while we search for her replacement.
