Get involved this Giving Tuesday

It’s Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, November 28. A global day of giving, Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to give to the causes important to you, and for us to celebrate the act of giving and giving back.

This Giving Tuesday, we want to bring your attention to a new project that will help to address a significant issue that many of our students face – food insecurity. Food is a basic necessity, yet many students are going without. Students are choosing to pay their rent, tuition, and textbooks over food.

The Langara Community Cupboard will provide emergency food packages and other essential items to students in need. This Giving Tuesday, you can help us stock the cupboard and celebrate Giving Tuesday, here’s how:

• Get social on Giving Tuesday, November 28
  Visit Langara’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts on Tuesday, November 28 and help us raise funds for the Community Cupboard with a click of a button. The Langara Students’ Union will donate $1 (up to $2,000) for every like, share or comment of our Community Cupboard post next Tuesday.
• Donate to the Community Cupboard
  With a small donation of $20, you can help feed students in need. Every donation we receive online up until December 1 will be matched by the College (up to $5,000), doubling your impact.
• Visit us in the A Building and share why you give
  Giving Tuesday is also an opportunity for us to celebrate the act of giving and giving back. Join us in the A Building foyer next Tuesday, November 28 from 10:30 am. Share your reason for giving or giving back, or tell us how you would stock their cupboard if you had $20 for the week.
