Financial Awards

The following awards are for international students in Regular Studies. Please read the eligibility criteria and application instructions carefully. For more other award opportunities, visit the College’s general scholarships page.

All qualified international students in Regular Studies are welcome to apply, even those who have previously won awards. For more information, please contact Langara Global.

International Entrance Awards

International Regional Entrance Scholarship (Application Required)

Applications are now open for this award.


This is awarded to international students who meet all admission and eligibility requirements and who are in receipt of an offer of admission for a full-time Regular Studies undergraduate program. This $7,500 award is applied towards the payment of tuition and fees in the eligible student’s first two terms of study. For additional information, click here.

 

President’s International Entrance Scholarship (Application Required)

Applications are now open for this award.


This is awarded to international BC high school students who meet all admission and eligibility requirements and who intend to study full-time in a Regular Studies undergraduate program. This $7,500 award is applied towards the payment of tuition and fees in the eligible student’s first two terms of study. For additional information, click here.

Financial Awards (Application Required)

The below financial awards require an application. The Spring 2024 application period opens Dec 20, 2023 and closes Jan 19, 2024 at 4:00 pm PST.

We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only award recipients will be contacted by email of the results by the Financial Aid office later in the semester.


Glen and Carole Egilson Community Building Award

This is awarded to a currently-enrolled full-time Langara College international student in Regular Studies or eligible Continuing Studies program*. They must have completed a minimum of two full-time terms at Langara College and have a minimum CGPA of 2.33 in Regular Studies or a C+ average in an eligible Continuing Studies program.

The recipient will be able to demonstrate, within the last calendar year from application date, commitment, and dedication to facilitating cultural adjustment and/or life transitions for international students and/or newcomers to Canada, and embodies the spirit of giving and hospitality, in a volunteer capacity outside of Langara.

  • Two awards per academic year (Fall/Spring): $1,500 each

i-Guide Mentors Award

This is awarded to a currently-enrolled full-time Langara College international student in Regular Studies or eligible Continuing Studies programs*. They must have completed a minimum of two full-time terms as an i-Guide Mentor at Langara College and have a minimum CGPA of 2.33 in Regular Studies or a C+ average in an eligible Continuing Studies program. Preference will be given to those applicants who are current mentors and were previously mentees in the program.

The recipient must be able to demonstrate contribution to helping new students overcome hurdles to academic and personal success. The recipient will also have demonstrated leadership contribution to the i-Guide program (example: organizing events, team leader, and/or other initiatives).

  • Two awards per academic year (Fall/Spring): $1,500 each

International Student Club Award

This is awarded to a currently-enrolled full-time Langara College international student in Regular Studies or eligible Continuing Studies programs*. They must have completed a minimum of two full-time terms at Langara College and have a minimum CGPA of 2.33 in Regular Studies or a C+ average in an eligible Continuing Studies program.

The recipient will have contributed to increasing intercultural awareness among students within a student club.

  • Two awards per academic year: Fall/Spring: $1,500 each

Langara Global Department Staff Award

This is awarded to a currently-enrolled full-time Langara College international student in Regular Studies or eligible Continuing Studies programs*. They must have completed a minimum of two full-time terms at Langara College and have a minimum CGPA of 2.33 in Regular Studies or a C+ average in an eligible Continuing Studies program.

The recipient will have made a significant contribution of service to the college community by having completed at least 25 hours in the preceding semester through the Langara Global Volunteer Program (LGVP) and/or VOLT programs.

  • Two awards per academic year (Fall/Spring): $1,500 each

  • 2D Animation & Digital Arts, Diploma
  • 3D Animation for Game, Film & Visual Effects, Diploma
  • Advanced Accounting, Diploma
  • Construction Standards, Certificate
  • Digital Music Production, Certificate
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance, Post-degree Diploma
  • Registered Massage Therapy (RMT), Diploma
  • Real Estate, Diploma
  • Real Property, Certificate
  • Supply Chain and Logistics, Post-degree Diploma

Financial Awards (No Application Required)

No applications are required for the below financial awards. All eligible students will automatically be considered. Successful recipients will be notified by email.


Academic Success in a Post-Degree Certificate or Diploma

This award is presented to a Langara College international student who has achieved the highest Langara CGPA in the first term of their post-degree certificate or diploma program and who is currently registered full-time in the second term of their post-degree certificate or diploma program.

  • Three awards per academic year (Fall, Spring, and Summer term): $1,500 each

International Student Athlete Award

This award is presented to a Langara College international student who meets the athletics conference eligibility criteria, is currently a member of a Langara College athletics team, and who is in good academic standing. If all above criteria are equally met by more than one student, then the award goes to the applicant(s) with the higher GPAs.

  • $4,500 available per calendar year, distributed at the discretion of the Director of Athletics between one, two, or three recipients

LEAP to Academic Studies Entrance Scholarship

This is awarded to a student who has been successfully admitted to a Langara Regular Studies University Transfer, Career, or Post-Degree program or Continuing Studies full-time program leading to a credential. The recipient must be registered in nine or more Regular Studies credits, or full-time in a CS program, in the first semester directly following LEAP 8 completion. The scholarship will be awarded to the student with the highest LEAP 8 grade. If the above criteria are equally met by more than one student, then the award goes to the student with the highest final exam grade.

  • Three awards per academic year (Fall, Spring, and Summer term): $1,500 each
