Complete this form to request the refund of the $1,500 international student commitment fee due to the recent IRCC changes to open work permit eligibility for spouses.

The international student commitment fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. However, you may be eligible for a refund of your commitment fee if you no longer can come to study in Canada due to the recent IRCC changes to open work permit eligibility for spouses.

To be eligible for a refund due to the recent IRCC changes to open work permit eligibility for spouses:

You are currently married or have a common-law partner.
Your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) was issued by Langara to you on or before January 31, 2024.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are aware of all rules, regulations and deadlines to complete course withdrawal and appeal procedures.

Under normal circumstances, a commitment fee refund request will be reviewed within in 7 - 10 business days. You will be notified by ieappeals@langara.ca of the decision.

If you would like to submit an appeal for a commitment fee refund due to a study permit refusal, please complete the Commitment Fee Refund due to Study Permit Refusal request form.

If you would like to submit an appeal for a commitment fee refund based on graduation, suspension, or extenuating circumstances, please complete a student appeal request form and submit the form to appeals@langara.caalong with a letter of explanation and supporting documentation.
